Glowing Testimonial for Liz Ferro’s Speaking Engagement at the 19th Annual Stark County Domestic Violence Collaborative Seminar

It was an honor to speak at the 19th Annual Stark County Domestic Violence Collaborative Seminar, but it was an even bigger honor to receive this thank you note from the Stark County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office regarding my presentation.
It’s both humbling and inspiring to read:

“You renewed our energy for our jobs. Your message has motivated us to continue our work to keep victims safe and offenders accountable.”

During the darkest times of my life, no one would have ever guessed I could make a difference anywhere, or motivate another person with my words or actions.

It’s an honor for me to be able to spread Girls With Sole’s message, and to emphasize the fact that we can’t dismiss or write off our troubled youth. There is almost always a reason why they are troubled. With programs like Girls With Sole – which utilize a curriculum to strengthen and encourage healthy living (mind, body and soul) through fitness, wellness, self-awareness and resilience building – lives can be changed for the better, and we can remove the stigma attached to abuse of any kind.

We’re so incredibly proud of past Girls With Sole participant, Emily Shelton, who won our essay contest and then read her essay to the crowd at our LULA 5K. After  completing Girls With Sole programs, she tried out for, and made, various sports teams she had previously been afraid to try. Girls With Sole is thrilled that everyone gets to see the amazing young lady she is, and continues to be. She keeps moving forward in the most positive ways, and sailing through life with resiliency!

Conquering the Wall (for the girls)

On May 20, 2017, Girls With Sole founder and CEO, Liz Ferro, will run what is widely known as the most challenging organized marathon in the world: The Great Wall Marathon . In hot and humid conditions, she will run a course that includes 5,164 steps of the Great Wall of China. It is such a brutal, unforgiving course that most people who attempt it don’t finish it.

But most people aren’t Liz Ferro.

So, why is she running the Great Wall Marathon? To show the world – and every forgotten girl within it – that no wall is too big to conquer. You can help by donating to Girls With Sole, so that more girls can receive the guidance, support, and access to fitness and sports that Girls With Sole provides.

It’s our goal to raise the much needed funding that will allow us to add the following to our existing programming:

-Training the Trainer
(GWS will provide operations manuals, training modules, personal training, and the program curriculum to people interested in running our invaluable programs for youth.)
– Girls With Sole Summer Day Camp
– Mother and Daughter Workshops

Saucony and Second Sole Rocky River are kindly sponsoring this campaign so that 100 percent of the proceeds raised will support Girls With Sole

Please help us reach our goals and meet the demand for GWS programs by donating today~
